Neeraj Chopra World Number Two in the Men’s Javelin Throw Ranking

Neeraj Chopra who proudly waved the Indian flag at the Tokyo Olympics, is now ranked World No Two in Men’s Javelin Throw ranking.

Subedar Neeraj Chopra is the first Indian to win a gold in Athletics by throwing the javelin to a distance of 87.58mm. He also broke the 13 year jinx of winning the Olympic Gold Medal. His performance at the Tokyo Olympic helped him climb to the world’s Two ranking.

According to the World Athletics Ranking Chopra has 1315 points ahead of Poland’s Marcin Krukowski (Third). Neeraj climbed the ladder from 16th position to 2nd position in Tokyo Olympics 2020. His victory has contributed towards India completing its “Best ever medals tally of 7” at the Olympics. "I feel lucky that I managed to end India's wait for an Olympic medal in athletics.
