Apna Green is a women-owned social business that is helping build micro-entrepreneurs by offering solutions for improving menstrual health & hygiene.
Aruna Dara, founder, of this two-year-old company, says her firm is “empowering women,” especially in rural India, by addressing their essential health and hygiene issues.
Since its inception, the company has provided endto-end support, such as training, setup and incubation, to self-help groups, pan India, for starting biodegradable sanitary pads manufacturing units. In the state of Telangana, India, Apna Green has set up four manufacturing units.
The plant in Wanaparthy district is managed by ‘specially abled’ women entrepreneurs. Adiwasi (tribal) women manufacturers will manage an upcoming unit in the Nirmal district.
Womenergy Association of Incubators In Manufacturing (WEAIM) and Apna Green jointly launched the. Enterprise From Home initiative to encourage individual women to run this venture from home at their convenience, which will make them financially independent.
